Going to the beach with your dog is a great opportunity to have a good time with your 4-legged friend. However, it is important to take certain precautions to ensure the safety and well-being of Médor.

Before you go out, find out on the regulations concerning the presence of animals on the chosen beach. Learn more about the list of beaches that are allowed to dogs.

Avoid the hottest hours of the day and make sure your dog has a shady place to rest and plenty of fresh water to drink. (learn more about heat and the dog).

Hot sand can burn your dog's paw pads. If necessary, consider using protective booties to avoid burns.
Dogs with fair skin or thin coats are more likely to suffer from sunburn. Apply sunscreen specially designed for dogs to sensitive areas.
Always keep your dog on a leash unless you are on a beach that allows off-leash dogs and you have total control over your pet.

Be alert to potential dangers like trash: pieces of glass, hooks, and trash can hurt your dog. Marine currents and big waves can be dangerous for Medor. Some marine animals, such as jellyfish and rays, can cause painful injuries.
Even dogs who are good swimmers can be surprised by waves or currents.

Supervise your dog constantly when he is in the water and equip him with a life jacket if necessary.

In addition to being a pleasant experience for you and your dog, going to the beach can bring many benefits to your companion.

Beach walks and games are a great opportunity for your dog to work out and stay in shape. The beach offers an environment rich in new smells and sensations, which stimulates your dog's intellect and makes him happier.
The sun, sea air, and the sound of waves can have a calming effect, helping to reduce stress and improve overall well-being.

Here are some activities you can do with your dog at the beach:
- If your dog loves water, bathing can be a great activity to cool off and have fun.
- Ball or Frisbee games are perfect for using up your dog's energy and strengthening your complicity.
- Take advantage of the beach for long walks, letting him explore and sniff out the new scents.
