Losing a dog is an overwhelming and stressful experience for the owner. It is essential to stay calm and take immediate action to maximize the chances of finding your lost companion.

If your dog is equipped with the Jagger & Lewis collar, you can of course follow his trail using the GPS function.

Step 1: Tell ICAD that your dog is lost

If your dog is identified, go directly to the ICAD website and enter your animal's microchip or tattoo number (you will find it in his health book).
Your veterinarian can help you with this process. It is important to check that your contact information for the dog is up to date.

Step 2: Report the disappearance to the local pound and shelters

Contact the local pound, animal shelters, and veterinary clinics (if injured, your pet may have been dropped off at them) to report your dog missing. Provide a detailed description, photo, and contact information. Visit these locations regularly to see if your dog has been found.

Step 3: Use social networks and specialized sites

Post a lost dog review on social networks and specialized websites such as PetAlert or Filalapat.
Include a recent photo, a description, where it was last seen, and your contact information. Share your post with friends, local groups, and animal-related organizations to increase its visibility. Many animals have reunited with their families thanks to viral solidarity!

Step 4: Tell the neighbours and start a fight in your environment

Alert your neighbours, local traders and passers-by about the disappearance of your dog. Show them a recent photo and ask if they saw or heard anything. The more informed people are, the more likely you are to receive useful information. Start by doing a thorough search of the immediate area where your dog was last seen. Call her name, bring her favorite toys or treats to lure her in. Check for places where he might be hiding, such as bushes, garages, or garden sheds.

Step 5: Create posters and distribute them

Design posters with a clear photo of your dog, a description, where and when your dog went missing, and your contact information. Print and distribute them in your neighborhood, at local retailers, and on public billboards. Remember to ask for permission before posting signs on private property.
